It’s safe to say the Park Hill South High School girls basketball team was struggling by the time it entered the North Kansas City tournament last week.
At the time, the Panthers were 1-12 and still searching for consistency. And while the consistency part is still a struggle, coach Jenny Orlowski couldn’t help but be a little more optimistic by the time the week was over.
That’s because the Panthers not only upset Missouri Class 4 defending champion Platte County 51-46 in the first round on Monday, but they also defeated rival Park Hill 50-46 in overtime in a Suburban Conference Big Six game on Saturday after finishing fourth in the NKC tournament.
