Hola amigos y amigas. I've been busy tracking down this Blue Springs wrestling story for the past two days so now I finally have time to post some Bulletin Board Material (better late than never, eh?)
Bishop Miege at Blue Valley North. The Mustangs had a nice bounce-back win last week over BV West and RB James Hennahane, especially, stepped up. But if Miege shuts him down, who will North turn to? So... Winner: Bishop Miege
Blue Valley at St. Thomas Aquinas. Silly us for picking Blue Valley as the fourth-ranked team in the preseason poll. I think we put so much stock into QB Anthony Abenoja coming back that we overlooked the glaring holes on the Tigers. Like... Abenoja can't do it by himself. Winner: St. Thomas Aquinas
Blue Valley Northwest at BV West. Trust me, I'm not trying to pick all EKL games but I especially find this one intriguing. These are both offensive-minded teams and although BV West has taken a left turn this season, I think it's going to be a fun shoot out. Winner: BV Northwest
Grain Valley at Pleasant Hill. Grain Valley's turnaround a season could end in disappointment when the Eagles enter districts against Sedalia and Harrisonville. Better get some mojo this week and hope it lasts. Winner: Grain Valley
Lee's Summit at Blue Springs South. Don't call it an upset. Winner: Lee's Summit
Winnetonka at Park Hill. Griffin RB Darrell Jobe hasn't been stopped yet. He has 16 of the team's 24 touchdowns and well over 1,200 yards already. Dude's gooood. But Park Hill is physical and will most definitely key on Tonka's top weapon. I think Jobe will have to put up video game-like stats to pull this one out. Winner: Park Hill
Lincoln Prep at Central. For the past two seasons, this match up helped determine the Interscholastic League champion. But now, the teams only have one win between them. Winner: Lincoln Prep
Park Hill South at Platte County. Two shutouts this season for the Panthers, which is as many as they've had for the past four years combined. Winner: Park Hill South
Well, that's it. Have a good Friday. I'll be out at the Olathe North-Law Free State game. Should be fun. If you can't make it, just follow my updates at www.twitter.com/KCCandace
