200-yard medley relay•First team: Lawrence Free State (Molly Albrecht, junior; Reilly Moore, freshman; Chloe Portela, freshman; and Morgan Flannigan, sophomore). The Firebirds’ foursome set a state meet record, winning the state title in a time of 1 minute, 47.40 seconds.
200 freestyle•First team: Molly Albrecht, Lawrence Free State, junior. Albrecht, a club swimmer, completed her first varsity state meet with a state championship in the 200 freestyle (1:51.01) and a runner-up finish in the 100 backstroke. She won Sunflower League championships in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
200 individual medley•First team: Natalie Morris, Olathe Northwest, freshman: Morris placed fourth at state in the 200 individual medley (2:10.16) and fifth in the 100 butterfly (57.69), helping the Ravens to a third-place overall team finish — best in the program’s history.
•Second team: Jenny Martin, Blue Valley Northwest, sophomore
50 freestyle•First team: Parker Watson, Blue Valley Northwest, junior: Watson led the Huskies to the state championship with two second-place individual swims in the 50 freestyle (24.32) and 100 freestyle (52.74). She also won East Kansas League championships in both events.
1-meter diving•First team: Logan Kline, Shawnee Mission East, junior: After consecutive state runner-up finishes the previous two years, Kline won her first state title this season with a score of 455.05 at the state meet. She won every meet in which she competed this season.
•Second team: Alyson Ramsey, Olathe South, junior
100 butterfly•First team: Chloe Portela, Lawrence Free State, freshman: Portela placed third at state with a time of 56.81. She won a Sunflower League championship in that event and also placed fifth at state in the 100 backstroke.
•Second team: Megan Greving, St. Thomas Aquinas, sophomore
100 freestyle•First team: Maddy Dalcamo, Olathe Northwest, sophomore: Dalcamo was chosen the swimmer of the state meet after winning state championships in the 100 freestyle (51.29) and 50 freestyle (23.75). She won Sunflower League titles in both events and is the first state champion in the program’s history.
•Second team: Marissa Leonard, Blue Valley Northwest, sophomore
500 freestyle•First team: Morgan Flannigan, Lawrence Free State, sophomore: Flannigan helped Free State to a second-place state finish with two top-three individual efforts. She placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:01.87) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:52.89). She also won a Sunflower League title in the 200 freestyle.
•Second team: Monica Dudley, St. Thomas Aquinas, sophomore
200 freestyle relay•First team: Blue Valley Northwest (Jenny Martin, sophomore; Melissa Funke, junior; Marissa Leonard, sophomore; and Parker Watson, junior). The relay finished in 1:39.70 in winning the state championship — the Huskies’ only first-place finish on their way to claiming the overall team championship.
100 backstroke•First team: Haley Smith, Blue Valley North, junior: Smith placed fourth at state in a time of 56.92. She also finished third in the 200 individual medley (2:07.80) and won East Kansas League championships in both events.
100 breaststroke•First team: Allison Kirby, Shawnee Mission East, sophomore: Kirby placed fourth at state with a time of 1:06.95. She also placed eighth at state in the 200 individual medley and helped the Lancers win the Sunflower League team title.
400 freestyle relay•First team: Lawrence Free State (Reilly Moore, freshman; Molly Albrecht, junior; Chloe Portela, freshman; and Morgan Flannigan, sophomore). Free State set another state meet record, finishing the 400 freestyle relay in 3:33.93 and capping the team’s overall state runner-up finish.
