She had 41 points, 11 rebounds and nine blocks in a state semifinal. Then, in Platte County’s 81-75 state title-game victory over Webb City, Johnson scored 24 points, pulled down 26 rebounds and had 14 blocks,

“They were probably the best two moments of my whole entire high school career,” said Johnson, a senior headed to Iowa. “(Winning a state title) has been something I wanted since I stepped on the floor for my first game.”

Johnson, The Star’s All-Metro basketball player of the year, led the Pirates to their first basketball state title. She averaged 20 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks, leading her team to a 28-2 record.

“In any sport I’ve ever coached, I don’t think I’ve seen anything like her season,” Platte County coach Chris Stubbs said. “This was as good as you can get. I’m not sure what else she could have done.”

Overall, Johnson set Missouri state championship records for single-game rebounding and two-day shot-block totals. She also tied the mark for points in a game with her 41-point effort.
