First team

Lawrence Free State (Molly Albrecht, senior; Reilly Moore, sophomore; Chloe Portela, sophomore; Morgan Flannigan, junior). The team broke its state meet record of last year, posting a time of 1:45.87 while winning the state championship and helping Free State take the program’s first team title.

200 freestyle First team

Brooke Brull, Shawnee Mission Northwest, senior. Brull captured her sought-after state title by winning the 200 freestyle state final in 1:52.18. She also placed second in the 100 freestyle and won Sunflower League titles in both events.

Second team

Morgan Flannigan, Lawrence Free State, junior

200 individual medley First team

Haley Smith, Blue Valley North, senior. Smith won her first state title convincingly, swimming the 200 IM in 2:04.71, a margin of more than 2 1/2 seconds. She also placed second at state in the 100 backstroke (55.93), contributed to the Mustangs’ state championship 200 freestyle relay and won East Kansas League titles in those two individual events.

Heather Clark, Lawrence Free State, junior

50 freestyle First team

Parker Watson, Blue Valley Northwest, senior. Watson turned in another stellar state meet performance, placing second in the 50 freestyle (23.96), 0.14 seconds behind state champion Maddy Dalcamo of Olathe Northwest. Watson was also third at state in the 100 freestyle and won East Kansas League titles in both events.

Reilly Moore, Lawrence Free State, sophomore

1 meter diving First team

Lauren Wismer, Blue Valley, senior. After injuries caused her to miss the state meet last year, Wismer bounced back with an undefeated senior season. She won her second state championship with a score of 465.55.

Second team

Alyson Ramsey, Olathe South, senior

100 butterfly First team

Natalie Morris, Olathe Northwest, sophomore. Morris placed second at state in the 100 butterfly in 56.48 and also finished fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:10.02). She won a Sunflower League title in the 100 butterfly.

Second team

Megan Greving, St. Thomas Aquinas, junior

100 freestyle First team

Maddy Dalcamo, Olathe Northwest, junior. Dalcamo won two state championships, repeating as champion in the 100 freestyle (51.27) and the 50 freestyle (23.82). She led the Ravens to a second-place state finish — the best in program history.

Second team

Marston Fries, Shawnee Mission East, freshman

500 freestyle First team

Mackenna Rife, Olathe Northwest, freshman. Rife capped an impressive first varsity season by placing second at state in the 500 freestyle in 5:01.66 — slightly more than two seconds behind three-time state champion Rebecca Swank of Trinity Academy. Rife was also fourth at state in the 200 freestyle.

Second team

Jenny Martin, Blue Valley Northwest, junior

200 freestyle relay First team

Blue Valley North (Haley Smith, senior; Kelsey Bakalar, senior; Mardi Buchanan, sophomore; Ana Kuehler, senior). The Mustangs broke the state meet record by winning the 200 freestyle relay championship in 1:37.71. The previous record of 1:39.45 had stood since 2004.

100 backstroke First team

Molly Albrecht, Lawrence Free State, senior. In addition to swimming on two record-setting relays, Albrecht contributed a third-place state finish in the 100 backstroke (56.65) and a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:52.76) while leading the Firebirds to the program’s first team state championship. She also won a Sunflower League title in the 100 backstroke.

Chloe Portela, Lawrence Free State, sophomore

100 breaststroke First team

Marley Suckow, Olathe Northwest, senior. Suckow finished as the state runner-up in this event (1:04.07) and was also sixth at state in the 200 individual medley (2:11.62).

Second team

Ana Kuehler, Blue Valley North, senior

400 freestyle relay First team

Lawrence Free State (Molly Albrecht, senior; Heather Clark, junior; Chloe Portela, sophomore; Morgan Flannigan, junior). This relay captured the second of Free State’s state meet records, winning the state title in 3:33.12. They broke the record of 3:33.93 set last year by the Firebirds.
