Hey guys, this is my first blog.  I am a senior at Saint Thomas Aquinas, so I will most likely be writing about them.

Friday marked Homecoming for Saint Thomas Aquinas.  Alumni and parents were welcomed to the tailgate and later to the game.  A week of themes and class videos was epitomized by the traditional Homecoming Pep-Rally and finally, the game.  In an odd turn of events the senior class lost the homecoming festivities when the float won, the banner and video got second, and the skit was disqualified.  That was general unhappiness for the "Senior Rockstars."

So, here are the game details you might not know without me.  The opponents hailed from Blue Valley Northwest High School, almost three miles away.  Aquinas entered the game undefeated while BVNW entered without a win.  Not surprisingly, each continued their streaks at 5-0 and 0-5 respectively; Aquinas won the game 45-21.  This was an especially exciting win because the last two years Aquinas has lost the homecoming game, and after all that hype, it is kind of a letdown.  Sorry BVW, we beat you this year on your Homecoming.  I guess that guy that I was talking to at the grocery store was wrong when he said that they were going to beat us like every year.

At half-time a football player, Ben Loughman, was crowned king and a tennis player, Bridget Porter, queen.  The Aquinas football team has adopted the slogan "It's our time," referring to state play.  This would be the first year in state play and as a senior and  I agree.  It is our time.
