Thank you to everyone who read my first blog, that was an ego booster. This blog will not be as happy as last week, but hopefully still okay.
Last night Aquinas traveled to Blue Valley to take on the Tigers. The game was televised and broadcast on the radio. Unfortunately things didn't really work out for us. Not very many fans came and the game just went badly.
After an good return on the first kick-off, the Saints went cold. There would be a couple good plays, but it wasn't connecting for some reason, until the fourth quarter. With 1:58 on the clock we scored. The drive was beautiful, but too late. The game ended 31-7. Beyond the score, Senior Chris Maggio was injured during the game. He went down for a while and then a couple plays later he was down for longer and ended up being assisted off the field and sat on the bench with ice around his knee for the rest of the night. His older brother, 2007 alum Nick Maggio, who plays for Duke came and visited last night and was there to comfort him while he was out.
It was not our best game, but for our second away game that happened to be against the #1 team in the EKL, it wasn't too dissapointing. It's hard to admit but it is sad, not horrible.
Next week the team returns home to battle with Ottowa. At 5-1 the team still looks good. "This is our time."
(Look for pictures early next week)
