That is our bonfire.  Pretty impressive.

Yes, that is a cheer courtesy of our Saint's cheerleaders.

Tonight we had a school bonfire aptly named the "Go Saints, Beat Gardner" Bonfire.  Around 100 people showed up for the event.  The Saphire Dance Team performed, along with the cheerleaders and the Brigade band.  Head Coach Kevin Kopecky gave a couple words along with seniors Ryan Nelson, Zach Bourquin, David Baska and Kyle Brown.

The school is hyped up and is planning to show up in force with spirit buses.  The team is going for a histoic Aquinas record of getting past the state semi-finals.

The event ended with the team chant. "Who's time? Our time!" and a chorus of "When the Saint's Go Marching In"

The bonfire was so hot, most people had their backs turned in an awkward non facing circle.  There was also a t-shirt thrown in.  I heard tell that it was from an opposing athlete that was trying to crash the party. Hmm... Scandalous...

There was lots of cheering and general excitement.  A win would be nice in Gardner tomorrow.  On a scouting trip the team said they say signs all around town, so it will be a big game.  Jan Morin, mother of OL star Jake Morin, and I were running over the game details today and we decided that we can win this one. Our points? -we won last game 12-6 -we are playing a lot better than before this season -only one loss this season -these seniors really want it

It's Our Time.
