SCHOOL: Gardner Edgerton

YEAR: Senior

SPORT: Basketball

Huppe helped power the Trailblazers back above .500 last week during a championship run at the El Dorado Classic. He scored 23 against Wichita Trinity and 19 in a semifinal victory over El Dorado. Huppe was limited to 9 points in the final against the reigning Class 5A state champion, Wichita Kapaun-Mount Carmel. “He’s been our best player all year,” Blazers coach Jeff Langrehr said.

Samantha Roy

SCHOOL: Park Hill South

YEAR: Junior

SPORT: Basketball

An offensive force who also serves as the team’s defensive leader, Roy last week scored 41 points in three games to help Park Hill South win the fourth annual Oak Park Invitational. More impressive, she totaled 14 steals while operating at the top of the Panthers’ full-court diamond press. She is averaging 11.9 points and 4.7 steals per game, and the Panthers are 14-1.
