Missouri: Thomas Ganaden

SCHOOL: Lee’s Summit West

YEAR: Junior

Ganaden threw only five passes in the Titans’ 61-22 victory Monday against Springfield Parkview. He made the most of his chances. He completed four of the five — and all of the completions went for touchdowns. Ganaden found tight end Austin Burau twice for scores and added touchdown passes to Birdsong Warren and top wideout Monte Harrison.

Kansas: Brad Strauss

SCHOOL: Lawrence

YEAR: Senior

Strauss threw for a career-high 320 yards in leading the Chesty Lions to a 34-32 win in the opening round of the Kansas 6A playoffs Friday at Gardner Edgerton. Strauss threw three touchdowns — the ninth game in a row he’s thrown at least two — and also had 11 carries for 56 yards with a touchdown. He threw one two-point conversion and one interception as Lawrence improved to 8-2.
