Staley senior quarterback Trent Hosick received plenty of trophies the last two years in both football and wrestling.

But he won’t be adding the Wendy’s High School Heisman to his collection.

Ohio cross-country standout Samuel Prakel of Versailles High School was selected the national winner during a ceremony Friday night in New York City. After being chosen as the Missouri state winner, Hosick was one of 12 national finalists.

The trip to the Big Apple wasn’t a lost cause. Hosick, who has made an oral commitment to play football at Missouri, was seated next to Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, a finalist for the Heisman Trophy tonight.
