Jack Sock heads The Star’s All-Metro boys tennis team

Jack Sock followed up his 17-0 effort last year with another 17-0.

Jack Sock is starting to make this look easy.

For the second year in a row, Sock, a Blue Valley North sophomore this last spring, was easily the most dominant high school boys tennis force in the Kansas City area. And for his efforts, Sock, 16, is The Star’s All-Metro boys tennis player of the year.

Sock went 17-0 during the season and won the Kansas Class 6A singles state championship for the second time in his career. Along the way, he also picked up a regional title and an East Kansas League title and routinely beat the best opponents Kansas had to offer, including two All-Metro first-team players in Blue Valley West’s Max Helgeson and Blue Valley North’s Eric Sock, Jack’s older brother.
