There isn’t even a golf course in Colby Yates’ hometown, Tonganoxie, but that didn’t stop the recent Chieftains graduate from becoming a high school golfing god. Yates won seven of 10 tournaments last season – including the Kaw Valley League, regional and Kansas 4A state championships – and posted a 73.3 scoring average for the season.
