The KCCS Panther Seniors lead their team over the Piper Pirates in this soccer game. In some of the previous games played this year, the KCCS Panthers played as "ball-hogs", instead of a team. In those games, they lost. In tonight's game; they played as a team. In past games a player would try to be the hero. In this game, the ball was passed to everyone. KCCS Senior Midfielder Nate Wolfe and Chris Sojka both scored two goals each in the first half of this game making it 4-0 at half time. The KCCS Offense kept the ball most of the time during the first half by passing short kicks to each other. The Piper defense was able to take the ball away but the Panthers would steal it right back. At half time the Piper Pirates came out a more aggressive team taking the ball & almost scoring twice. Goalie Collin Cook & the Piper defense stopped the Panthers from scoring at all in the second half. Instead of waiting for the ball, Pirates Goalie Collin Cook made some nice saves jumping to block the ball & also sliding in to get the ball before the Panthers could finish scoring. The second half has to go out to the Pirates for good defense & stopping the Panthers. Just like Logan Davis & Coolin Friesen stopped Jared Shiver from scoring with a fast break away in the second period. The Panthers offense played like past Panther Teams who have gone to state. If the Panthers can continue doing the offense & defense they showed tonight--the Panthers may be hard to stop.
